We are proud to present a new series of collector coins, the “Butterflies”. The collection will feature the most attractive and beautiful butterflies of Europe and world. The series will have a limited mintage and an original design. Thanks to the pad printing technique the images will reflect the genuine butterfly colours.
Obverse:
In the central part of the coin, a likeness of the Queen Elizabeth II. Below, the Mint’s mark: M/W. Around it the inscription: ELIZABETH II 1 DOLLAR. Along the rim of the coin, at the top, the inscription: NIUE ISLAND 2010. In the background, a stylized enlarged fragment of a butterfly wing.
Reverse:
In the central part of the coin, a likeness of a male Scarce copper; in the background, grass leaves, with one of them being significantly enlarged. Below the inscription: LYCAENA VIRGAUREAE (Latin name for the scarce copper).
