The Czech Mint introduces the four-part miniseries of silver coins called The Foundation of the Royal Capital City of Prague after the New Town of Prague.

The New Town was found by Charles IV in 1348, so it is no wonder that it can not miss historical monuments. However, it also has something to offer to lovers of modern architecture - the so-called Dancing House. The story of an eclectic building that looks like the dancers of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, began at the end of World War II in 1945. Prague was then bombed by Americans who mistaken it for Dresden, and one of their goals was a house on the corner of Rašín's embankment and Jiráskovo Square. It took fifteen years to clean the city, and thirty years to decide what to do with the free plot. Václav Havel, who lived in the neighboring house, together with the architect Vlado Miluniæ, who invited Frank Gehry to work, became the authors of the development idea. It was assumed since the very beginning that the building would lean over the intersection to symbolize a society that once again began to move after decades of totalitarian rigidity. The project was completed in 1996, however, it still divides the company today. It is perceived as an architectural gem and a tourist magnet as well as an insult to the historic capital city.

The reverse side of the coin was dedicated by the academic sculptor Zbyòek Fojtù to both towers of the Dancing House. The composition was complemented by the Latin inscription NOVA CIVITAS PRAGENSIS (New Town of Prague), together with the historical emblem of the city. The obverse side is common to the entire miniseries and presents the Prague silhouette (bordered by the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge) supplemented by the inscription PRAGA CAPUT REGNI (Prague, Head of the Kingdom). The obverse side bears the attributes of the island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with the license to coin its own commemorative coins. The attributes are the portrait and the name of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of the issue 2019 and the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD).

The Lesser Town and Hradèany are introduced after the New and Old Towns in the mini-series, which is an addition to a numismatic collection or an attractive commemoration of the capital.
