Coins called "bullion coins" are made of precious metal and serve primarily as an investment or a means of value preservation. Such are the "Czech Lions" - the Czech Mint's own investment coins which were issued with a foreign license. They are the first coins of their kind minted in the Czech Republic. The obverse side of the coin bears the linden branch together with the attributes of the island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with a foreign license to coin its own coins. The attributes are the profile and the name of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of the issue 2019, together with the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD). A sophisticated design of the coin was created by the leading medal maker Jaroslav Bejvl. However, he left us forever at the age of 75 even before he finished his work.
