A new collector coin the “Golden Snakes” is a unique gift, not only for collectors. It has been struck on the blank of Ag 925 to proof quality. Decorated with selective gilding, the coin contains a filigree insert in the shape of a small snake covered with 24-carat gold. The coin struck by the Mint of Poland is legal tender in New Zealand.
Obverse:
At the top of the coin - the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Above it - a semi-circular inscription: ELIZABETH II NIUE ISLAND. Below the portrait of the Queen, a filigree insert in the shape of a little snake. Under the portrait of the Queen, to the left - the mint mark (m/w). At the bottom, semi-circular inscriptions: ONE DOLLAR (the face value) and 2012 (the year of issue).
Reverse:
In the central part of the coin - an image of a pair of snakes depicted using the gilding technology. In the background – leaves and grass. Below it, a filigree insert in the shape of a small snake, plated with 24-carat gold. Under the following there is an inscription: THE SNAKE 2013.
