The Trans-Siberian Railway Egg was an Easter gift from the Tsar Nicholas II of Russia to his beloved wife Alexandra Feodorovna. This priceless masterpiece reveals a miniature replica of a steam locomotive
and five carriages attached to it. The train can be wound up and run with a tiny gold key, what reflects the unimaginable craftsmanship of its creators. Today, the original Trans-Siberian Railway Egg is housed in the Kremlin Armory Museum in Moscow.
The Mint of Poland has taken the next step towards conquering the third dimension of the coin universe. In order to create the egg–shaped coin, our minters, well-known for their exquisite craftsmanship, implemented the most innovative solutions into the technological process. Thanks to a specially created 6-element die, they succeeded not only in creating the impeccable shape of the coin, but also – in adorning it with intricate relief images.
