Christmas is a magical time - the time rich in pleasant moments spent with your loved ones, the time of joy, love and fulfilled dreams. On the occasion of the most beautiful holidays of the year, the Mint of Poland is planning to strike a one-of-a-kind coin presenting the first photographs of snowflakes, made in 1880 by Wilson A. Bentley! The author took thousands of photographs on the basis of which he discovered that every snow crystal is unique
and no two are alike. What add charm to the coin are images of two famous angels from the "Sistine Madonna" painting by Raphael Santi.
For the first time in coin production an innovative technique has been used – the 4-angle latent image - thanks to which a snow beauty appearing under an inscription changes right in front of our eyes. Depending on the angle of inclination of the coin we can see four dierent snowflakes.
