On the left, the image of the eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland. Over the eagle the year of issue: 2011. At the top, in semicircle, an inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA (REPUBLIC OF POLAND). Under the left foot of the eagle the symbol of the mint: M/W.
Reverse:
In the center, a stylized image of John Paul II with hands raised in a greeting gesture, against the background of a stylized image of a fragment of the globe. Along the rim, on a separated surface, an inscription: BEATYFIKACJA
JANA PAWŁA II (BEATIFICATION OF JOHN PAUL II) and, after a separating star, an inscription: 1 V 2011.
John Paul II will be canonised on 27 April 2014, alongside Pope John XXIII, by Pope Francis.
