Are you looking for a gift for a wise person, student, teacher or simply someone who likes owls? Then the Czech Mint prepared for you a silver medal which represents a valuable and original talisman.
Our ancient ancestors were most afraid of the dark. They imagined the mysterious horrors that lurked there and anxiously awaited the first rays of light in the morning. For other creatures, however, the night is a blessing - the owl, for example, is a nocturnal hunter. It can pinpoint where the slightest sound is coming from and yet remain unseen itself. No wonder the bird of prey, which sees what remains hidden to humans, has become a symbol of wisdom. The ancient Greeks revered the owl as the inseparable companion of the goddess Athena, who gave people crafts and knowledge, and the learned Athenians depicted it on coins, for example.
The owl can be found on the obverse side of the medal, which was created by the medal maker David Kružliak. The elaborated relief is made up of a series of decorative ornaments that evoke the wisdom of ancient civilisations.
The silver medal is placed in an elegant box.
