On 23 October 2018, the Czech National Bank is putting into circulation a CZK 10,000 gold coin to mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia. The coin is minted from 999.9 purity gold and is issued in two versions, normal quality and proof quality, which differ in surface treatment and edge marking. Proof-quality coins have a highly polished field, a matt relief and a plain edge. Normal quality coins have milled edges. The coin is 34 mm in diameter, weighs 31.107 g and is 2.60 mm thick. Deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.062 g and in gold content of 0.01% are permitted.

The obverse side of the coin depicts a linden tree on a hillock. The crown of the linden tree is covered by shields bearing heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms. The Czech lion is in the middle, with the Moravian eagle to the left and the Silesian eagle to the right. Inside the hillock are the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit “10 000 Kč”. Located around the outer circle is the name of the state in Czech “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” in a double-lined astragal. The mark of the Czech Mint, in the form of the letters “Č” and “M”, is located near the right-hand edge of the coin after the word “ČESKÁ”. The upper part of the reverse side of the coin contains the large national coat-of-arms of the Czechoslovak Republic. Below the coat-of-arms are facsimiles of the signatures of Edvard Beneš, T. G. Masaryk and M. R. Štefánik. The lower half of the coin depicts a linden seedling on a hillock. Inside the hillock are the years “1918” and “2018”. Located around the outer circle is the text in Czech “VZNIK ČESKOSLOVENSKA” in a double-lined astragal. Located after the word “VZNIK” are the initials of the designer of the coin, the painter Vladimír Pavlica, made up of the letters “V” and “P” in a frame. Each coin comes with a white and red-coloured catalogue card containing a description and the relief of the coin.
