2017 - 5000 Kronen Burg Bouzov / Busau - PP

On 30 May 2017 the Czech National Bank is putting into circulation the third gold coin from the Castles cycle. It features Bouzov Castle. The coin is minted from 999.9 purity gold and is issued in two versions, normal quality and proof quality, which differ in surface treatment and edge marking. Proof-quality coins have a highly polished field, a matt relief and a plain edge. Normal quality coins have milled edges. The coin is 28 mm in diameter, weighs 15.55 g and is 2.15 mm thick. Deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.062 g and in gold content of 0.01% are permitted.

The obverse side of the coin depicts a detail of a castle wall with an arcade. Banners with heraldic animals from the large national emblem of the Czech Republic hang below the arches. Written around the outer circle is the name of the state “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA”, the denomination “5 000” with the abbreviated monetary unit “Kč” and the name of the cycle “HRADY”. The individual words, the denomination and the abbreviation are separated with dots. The mark of the Czech Mint, in the form of the letters “Č” and “M”, is located below the castle wall. The reverse side of the coin depicts Bouzov Castle with part of the entrance bridge and the ramparts. The text “HRAD BOUZOV”, the year of mintage “2017” and the initials of the designer Josef Oplištil, in the form of the interlinked letters “J” and “O”, are written around the upper edge of the coin. The individual words, the year and the initials are separated with dots.

Each coin comes with a red catalogue card containing a description and the relief of the coin.
